Only Trust Him

Isaiah 55:1 - 13 1Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

2Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

3Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

4Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

5Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel; for he hath glorified thee.

6Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:

7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

12For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

13Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.

God calls us to His Son- vs. 1

His Son can satisfy

His Son is given freely

His Son is invaluable, yet we can "buy" Him

Matthew 11:27 - 30 27All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.

28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

How much do we value Him? - vs. 2

Do we give Him our life?

Do we spend our life doing the wrong things?

We waste our resources

We labor for things we cannot have

We labor for things that we do not need

We labor for things that we should not have

We labor for things that do not help, satisfy or last

We listen to things we should not hear

We look at things we should not see

We seek things we should not seek

We keep things we should not keep, etc.

Are we willing to answer God's personal call properly - vs. 3 & 4

The proper answer is YES!

Yes I want His Son in my life

Yes I want to hear His voice

Yes I want to live

Yes I want to take part in His plan - for myself and others (forever)

Yes I accept Him as my Lord and Savior - 4

We are part of God's plan for those who were unknown (except through His Son)

  • vs. 5 & 6

It is not we who are important, it is Him

It is we who should lift Him up in praise and worship

It is we who should be Look to Him while we can - 6

We should forsake sin - vs. 7

Let it go

Leave it alone

Look not at it at all

Think on or seek His mercies and great pardon

We need to trust God - vs. 8-

We cannot always understand God's ways

He is right - 9

He is in control - 9

He will bless (where it counts) - 10

We should sow for Him - 11

We have and will have great JOY in the Lord - 12

We face a great future in the Lord

When we are with Him, none of life's problems we face now will be a problem then - 13

We need to trust (and ask) Him…

For salvation

For others' salvation

For sustenance

For safety in our lives (but don't be stupid)

For service (spiritual)

For strength in difficulties

Also we need to trust and ask for…

For health (to serve Him)

For healing in sickness

For harmony or symphony in our lives

Let me ask you…

Are you trusting in the Lord?

Are you willing to seek His ways?

Are you willing to let go of painful sin and sinful practices?

Are you ready to grasp His great blessings?

Are you wanting and willing to trust Him all the way?
