INTRO: So, what is all the buzz about the Holy Spirit? Do we need Him in our lives? Can He help us? Just how much should we depend upon Him? These are questions that can arise when we look at the Holy Spirit. While this will not be an exhaustive look, I want to bring before you several different scriptures to examine today.

As believers, the Holy Spirit…
Indwells us

To help us - Ezekiel 36:27

To witness to us - Romans 8:9

To bring us truth - John 14:17

To teach us - 1 John 2:27

Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

As children of God - Romans 8:16

As sons we can cry "Abba, Father" - Galatians 4:6

As obedient children - 1 John 3:24

As the Son's witness - 1 John 5:6

Romans 8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Galatians 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

1 John 3:24 And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

1 John 5:6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

Luke 12:12 For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

1 Corinthians 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
