September 11, 2001, What Happened?
How Can We Apply It?
According to
www.september11victims.com, as of 08/08/2004 , including those missing, 2996 died that day. There were four basic types of action that happened that day
Hyper activity - they fled danger
Thoughtful activity - they fled danger
Hesitant activity - They hung around danger
Miniscule activity - They died
Hyper activity - they fled danger
They left it all and reached safety
Thoughtful activity - they fled danger
Some called for help and they were told what to do
Help line?…
God's Word
God's Spirit
God's people
Some rescued others while some escaped alone
Who are you seeking to rescue?
Some were frantic to share their knowledge, thus saved several
Scr - ? matt 28:19-
Some were trapped in a time of despair - like Jonah
Even in despair there was hope
Have you called upon someone who may be able to help?
Have you called upon someone who can really help?
Some knew/saw it was bad, they listened to a voice inside and fled
Our conscious speaks to us
The holy Spirit speaks to us
Satan speaks to us
Who do you listen to?
Hesitant activity - They hung around danger
Some knew the danger, but waited too long
"I am okay"
"I can handle this"
"It'll be okay"
"Just a little bit long"
Are you waiting on something?
What are you waiting on?
Miniscule activity - They died
Some were told to stay put
We listen to other's ideas
We listen to the experts
Staying put brings failure
Not choosing Christ brings death - scr. No other name…
Some knew the building (and its strength) and felt safe
Like those in the building…
We trust in self
We trust in membership
We trust in preachers
We trust in mom and dad, grandma and grandpa
WE trust in friends
All can fail us, not matter how much we trust
Some did not know what to do and did nothing
Nothing will get you nothing
No God? No salvation
Some never got to say goodbye, others did
Some will be reunited in "heaven", others won't
Many never knew what hit them
Life is like that - uncertain
