Are The Stones Crying Out For You?
Luke 19:36-40
Luke 19:36 - 40 36And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. 37And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; 38Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. 39And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. 40And he answered and said unto them,
I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.INTRO
: What a great time to see. What a wonderful time to witness. The Lord was entering Jerusalem on His highest note. Yes, we know what awaits Him. Yes He knew what was coming too. But, it was so neat to see Him get the praise he not only deserved, but also was going to have. Do we give Him the praise He deserves? Do we lift our voices loud and praise Him? Is He worth our efforts? Are we really into serving the Lord?It is so easy at times to stand back and find fault with others lives. I mean anyone could see they should have been giving Him a great amount of praise. It is much harder to see our own shortcomings. It is much more difficult to do our job. It is easy to overlook our faults and rationalize things in our lives.
Let me ask you, Are The Stones Crying Out For You? Are they doing what God wants in your life? If God does not get what He wants from you, it will come from someone or something else!
Let's get started. First, let me ask you…
What principles was Jesus trying to give us in this statement?
There are three obvious principles involved here…
Next let me ask you…
How can or should we glorify God?
Psalms 22:23 Ye that fear the LORD, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.
It is right
He is righteous
It is our right
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
We are His representatives
Are we shinning before others?
If they do not see our good works, how will they see Him?
If they do not see Him, how will they know Him?
John 15:8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
What is bearing fruit?
Live holy
Touch lives
Tell others of Him
Show others about Him
Romans 15:6 That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Changed lives should be unified lives
We should have a desire to be close to Him
We should have a desire to be close to His Word
We should have a desire to be close to His family
We should have a desire to worship Him together
Something wrong if we do not
1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.
By totally consecrating your life to Him
If you are half-way living for Him…
the stones clearing their throats.
If you are hesitating giving Him your all…
the stones clearing their throats.
IF you do not take care of your body and give it all to Him…
the stones clearing their throats.
If you are not as excited about Jesus as you once were…
the stones clearing their throats.
If prayer is not an integral part of your life…
the stones clearing their throats.
If your prayers are all about you…
the stones clearing their throats.
If you do not love your fellow man…
the stones clearing their throats.
If lost souls are not a concern…
the stones clearing their throats.
If you do not care what happens to lost souls…
the stones clearing their throats.
If you can miss worship opportunities and do not care…
the stones clearing their throats.
If God's Word and studying it is not important…
the stones clearing their throats.
Enough of that, you get the point
Do we really want to let others give Him our praise?
We lose out on blessings He wants us to have
We lose out on blessings He wants us to have
We fail to meet our responsibility
Not only do we lose, but so do our loved ones, our friends, our associates, our neighbors, etc.
