Making The Harvest Happen With The Right ACTION

John 4:35-38

John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.

36 And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

37 And herein is that saying true, One soweth, and another reapeth.

38 I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered into their labours.

INTRO: Two Sundays ago, I began a series about being part of the Harvest. We looked at Part of the Harvest - part 1-- Mindful Of The Harvest. We saw… Awareness of the need for harvest - that souls may be won; Attuned to the season of harvest - that souls may be won today; and

Affixed on the purpose of harvest - that we may help win lost souls.

Last week we looked at Making The Harvest Happen With The Right Attitudes.

How do we help the harvest happen around us? We saw several different attitudes that help us be part of the Harvest.

Today, I want to look at what we can do together as a church and as individuals to help make the Harvest great in our lives.

First, we need…

Precious Intimacy and Integrity with the Lord

Be close to Him

Be honest with Him

Be right before Him

Be special because of Him

Then we need to…

Plunge In and Immerse ourselves in His work -

Put what we know into action -we can have a great attitude, but we must do something with it.

John 32:3-6 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.

6 And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.

Nike put it well - "Just do it."

John Kennedy said it well - "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."

Another saying - "Put your money where your mouth is."

My motto - "Do something, even if it is wrong!"

Reach the lost

Help others do theirs - missionaries, teachers, Evangelists, Pastors, etc.

Do more yourself- help transport, help mow, help clean, help sing, etc.

Financially support God's Work -

Common sense tells us it takes money

Give joyfully

Be part of the process of spending it (active membership)

Help New Beginnings reach others

Planned Integration and Inspiration

Find a job within the church and support it - important

DON'T WE HAVE PLENTY OF PEOPLE TO HELP? - NO!

Speak up (volunteer)

At present we have about 128 jobs done by 27 people being done in our fellowship.- And that is not counting the need for more jobs that need to be done.
