What Is So Great About Our New Beginnings?

2 Cor. 5:17

^{17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

INTRRO: Most of you are thinking our church when I mention New Beginnings! But today, I am thinking our new lives in Christ, our New Beginnings in Him.

First, I see something that is great…
Our New Birth (new creature) - John 3:3-8

John 3:3-8 ³Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. ⁴Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? ⁵Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. ⁶That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. ⁷Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. ⁸The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

The old man removed
The old way reversed
The old nature reborn
The old values reworked
The old direction reversed

Next, I see that is great…
Our New Life (old things passed away)

Our old master (Satan) abandoned - this is not enough
Our new master (Christ) accepted
Our destructive life altered
Our divine life applied
Our spiritual; life acclaimed (for others to see)

A New You - when we are with the Lord

New tree (of life)- Rev. 2:7
New invincibility - Rev. 2:11
New manna form God - Rev. 2:18
New power - Rev. 2:26
New clothes - Rev. 3:5
New position - Rev. 3:12
New throne room - Rev. 3:21

And last I want to spend some time looking at…
Our New "View" Rev. 21:1-

New heaven - vs. 1
New earth - vs. 1
New Jerusalem - dwelling place/"heaven" - vs. 2
New presence of God - vs. 3
New Comfort from God - vs. 4
New things - vs. 5
New drink - vs. 6
New inheritance vs. 7

I want to spend some time looking at some possible "New things" when He tells us He will make all things new…

New bodies that don't wear out, hurt, etc.
New eyesight that needs no glasses
New voices that can sing great praise to the Lord
New smiles that can brighten our days
New laughs that can fill the air
New songs that can lift up His name
New praises form our hearts that can tell how we feel
New friends that we can forever know and love

I know I am only conjecturing, but lest continue on…

New houses that need no generators or heaters
New rivers to flow through and through
New clouds to dot the sky
New mountains to show His majesty
New waterfalls to cause us to ooh and ah
New gardens to catch our eye
New butterflies to flitter in our sight
New ice storms to cause us grief- OH I'M SORRY - THAT'S THE OTHER SIDE
New land to see and explore (no more see)

We could continue, but I will not…
It will be a great place to be.

HOW CAN WE BE SURE WE ARE GOING?

ASK GOD TO FORGIVE US
BELIEVE HE SENT HIS SON FOR OUR SINS
CONFESS HIM AS SAVIOR
