Who We Have At Our Side To Help Us
Gal. 2:20; Psalm 23

Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

INTRO: I think one of the greatest verses of the Bible is found in Galatians 2:20. Yes I know John 3:16 is better known. It tells of God's great love and His willingness to send His Son. This verse, however, shows us the result of John 3:16. It shows us what can happen when we trust God as our savior and allow Him to live in our lives.

Yes we see the crucifixion of Christ, but we have life! "We live," Paul said.

Not only do we have life, Christ said in John 10:10b, 11 that we can have it more abundantly!

I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. We can have this abundant life because He lives in us, and through us He is known to those we meet.

When we have a personal relationship with Christ, we can see that He is our great helper, our shepherd, our rescuer because He lives within us.

I want to also look at the familiar Psalm 23 today.

Psalm 23: 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
