Who Is That Coming To Meet

The story of Isaac and Rebekah is a wonderful story.
It can be used to parallel our lives and Christ to them. It can be a lesson
to us how God can and will help us, guide us, use us, and call us to be
with Him. It is the story of how the church is to be His bride when He
comes for us.
We find that…
Abraham was thinking of his son
Godly wife - vs. 3
Godly heritage - vs. 7
Godly guidance - vs. 7
We learn:
God will separate us for His use
God will succor us with His strength
God will steer us with His Spirit
We also see that…
God was planning for His servant
God only expects our best vs. 8
God only wants us to have the best - vs. 12
God's touch brings out the best - vs. 15
We learn:
God supplies us His blessings - vs. 10
God supplies His believers - vs. 12
God supplies beautifully - vs. 16
Fair to look upon
Filled with good morals - showed
Faithful to hear God (God could speak to her)
The servant could not believe his eyes! - vs. 22
What an example for us because…
There was room in her life for God's promised
one
She received great gifts - vs. 22
She welcomed her master's servant - vs. 25
She shared the good news - vs. 28
She was willing to go - vs. 58
We learn:
God subscribed the right blessing
God secured the right blessing
God saved the right blessing
And best of all…
There was a joyous union awaiting this servant
(Rebekah)
She was making the journey
She was watching for the master
She went to be his bride
We do know:
We are making a journey
We are watching for our Master
We will soon go to be His bride
