Things We Tell God By Our Actions And Deeds
Matt. 10:32-33

Matt. 10: 32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

INTRO.: What do we tell God by our actions? Do we send a message to Him that we care about Him and His ways? Do we let Him know and others around us that He is important in our lives? Just what do we tell Him?

Rom. 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

When we neglect to pray, we tell Him…

We do not need communication with God

Eph. 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; We are satisfied with our circumstances Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. We are satisfied with others' circumstances Rom. 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. We disobey Christ's admonition and example to pray Luke 6:12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. When we neglect to worship Him…

We pass or miss a great opportunity

Acts 8:27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

Many had to travel long ways to worship
Many even yet today are persecuted when they try to worship

We tell God He is not worthy of praise and worship

Rev. 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. We show or tell others it is not needful or important in our lives Heb. 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. We reject the help others give us in fellowship and worship Eph. 6: 21 But that ye also may know my affairs, and how I do, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord, shall make known to you all things:
22 Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.

When we neglect God's Word…

We deprive ourselves His direction

2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.
God's love letters to us go unopened

We replace His knowledge with our own

Rom. 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; We say our ways are better than God's ways

We say that His comfort is not needed

We reject encouragement from the Great Encourager

John 14: 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
