Intro: All this election stuff! Don't you just wish it would disappear? Well it will soon. Everything will pretty much return to normal. First let me say, I am not going to bash any political party today. That is not the intent of this message. It is my intent to cause us to look at how we vote for God. Have you chosen Him? If you do not choose Him, then who have you chosen? What are the consequences of failing to "vote" for Christ?
I know many of us do not like our choice of candidates
in elections. Can we honestly say this about our choices today? We have
such an obvious choice available for us.
I want to read from Joshua 24:15 - 16 and hear
how Joshua explained his choice or vote in life
Josh 24: 15 And if it seem evil unto
you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether
the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and
my house, we will serve the LORD.
16 And the people answered and said,
God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods;
First I want to deal with…
God's Election of Us
John 3: 16 For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should
not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into
the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be
saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not
condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath
not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 And this is the condemnation,
that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light,
because their deeds were evil.
20 For every one that doeth evil
hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be
reproved.
21 But he that doeth truth cometh
to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought
in God.
Acts 4: 12 Neither is there salvation
in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men,
whereby we must be saved.
Acts 26: 28 Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
Eccl. 11: 3 If the clouds be full
of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth: and if the tree fall toward
the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falleth, there
it shall be.
4 He that observeth the wind shall
not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.
Who is your leader? Christ? Satan?
How are you voting with your life?
How much longer can you postpone your choice for Him?
Does it really make sense to put off turning to
Him?
