A Dozen Things That Disappoint And Sadden God
Ro. 1:18-25

 Intro. There are many things I could use for this today, but I have chosen an even dozen. God never wants to see people lost! It truly saddens Him. There are other things that He is saddened by too. Let me tell you God does not always use a plane or His finger to write messages to us individually in the sky. He does use His Word, and we can find many places where He sends His regards! Let us look at a few.
 

1. Those that reject His Son - Acts 26:27

Lu. 20: 9 Then began he to speak to the people this parable; A certain man planted a vineyard, and let it forth to husbandmen, and went into a far country for a long time.

10 And at the season he sent a servant to the husbandmen, that they should give him of the fruit of the vineyard: but the husbandmen beat him, and sent him away empty.

11 And again he sent another servant: and they beat him also, and entreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.

12 And again he sent a third: and they wounded him also, and cast him out.

13 Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence him when they see him.

14 But when the husbandmen saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, This is the heir: come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.

15 So they cast him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore shall the lord of the vineyard do unto them?

16 He shall come and destroy these husbandmen, and shall give the vineyard to others. And when they heard it, they said, God forbid.

17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
 
 

 2. Those that live ungodly - Ro. 1:18 God is Holy, He cannot condone ungodliness at all
  3. Those that listen NOT to God - Ro. 1:19-20 God speaks to people, yet they listen not
  4. Those that do NOT glorify God as God - Ro. 1:21-23 For many to recognize God as God, condemns them and they do not wish that
  5. Those that pervert God's creation - Ro. 1:24-25 These are those that are so intent on doing their own thing, they call wrong right, and right wrong.
  6. Those that won't worship God - Ro. 1:25b God wants our worship
  7. Those that lie to the Holy Ghost - Acts 5:3 If we are not careful, we do this all the time

We make excuses - The Holy Spirit knows

We make promises we do not meant to keep - The Holy Spirit knows

We do things for show - The Holy Spirit knows
 

 8. Those that persecute the Church - Acts 9:4-5 People persecute the Church for many reasons

Remember, these are not always agnostics, unbelievers, and atheists

Paul was super-religious, but He persecuted the Church
 

 9. Those that lack faith One message God's Son brought was the need for faith Palsied man healed

Woman with issue of blood healed

Man crippled 38 years healed

Centurion's servant healed

Two blind men healed according to their faith

Woman vexed with a devil was healed, etc.
 

 10. Those that are religious, but lack the weightier things of the law
 

Matt. 23.23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
 

They are highly religious, but highly lost!


11. Those that are lukewarm - Rev. 3:15-16

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
 

Are you lukewarm today? Is God saddened by your attitude toward Him and His Son and His Son's work?

Are you hot for God???????

Are you Cold???????
 

 12. Those that prevent others from coming to Christ - Mk. 10:14 13 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16 And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
 
 

Notice Christ found a way to bless those that wanted to come to Christ

If we fail to help people in, or prevent them, He will use other means
