Is There Anything In Your Life Christ Can Use?
Luke 19:30-44

Intro.: The disciples found a young colt. He had never been ridden, he was unused, yet Christ had an use for him. What do you have in your life He can use? What are you willing to let go for the Lord?

Often people want to be used, but are unusable. This usually happens because of their lack of desire, not because of Christ's ability to use them.

First, we can see…
Christ knew who owned the colt

He knows our "frame" -Ps. 103:14

For he knoweth our frame; he remembereth that we are dust.

He knows our strengths and weaknesses

He knows our gifts and abilities

He knows our attempts

He knows our failures

He knows our "Master"

Next, we can see…
Christ knew exactly where the colt stood

He knows what binds or limits us

He knows what it takes to loose us

He knows where we are looking

He knows what we are feeding on (short rope limited diet)

He knows our true desires (to serve or not)

He knows our potential

We also understand…
Christ knew any excuses for not using the colt

He knew many thought him too plain

He knew many thought him too ugly - donkey

He knew many thought him not fast enough

He knew many thought him not dignified enough

He knew many thought him too young - never ridden

And, we can also see…
Christ had a specific use for the colt

He wanted one to carry his share of the load

He wanted one that he could influence

He wanted one that would not balk at a heavy load

He wanted one that would not worry about getting glory for working

He wanted one that would be around when the shouts came (long haul)

Now I want to look at a few ways this applies to our being used by Christ…

First, let us look at...
5 Kinds of hesitancy about your usability for Christ

You may never feel totally like you are ready

You may always be afraid you will fail

You may never feel worthy to carry the load He has for you

You may never get the praise you feel you deserve

You may never get to carry what or where YOU wish

Second I want to examine…
5 Feelings you may experience while being used to serve Christ

You may get your feelings hurt because you are overlooked

You may see others not carry a load and wonder why? Why me? Why just me?

You may get weary

You may not see the results you wish

You may feel like just quitting (not justified, just feeling that way)

And third, let us look closely at…
5 Truths about your usability by Christ

He will not use you tied to the tree

You may be ready, but if you are still tied to the tree, He is not using you He will not use you if you are "kicking up your heels" in the field

He will not use you if you will not carry a load

He will not use you against your will

He will not use you if you are not usable

Out of shape - spiritually & physically?

Bad attitude

Dirty - spiritually and physically?

Stubborn

Not to be found
