Can Christ Use Our Ship?
Luke 5:1-11
-
People have a desire to hear from
Christ
-
They are empty and hunger - He fills and gives fullness
-
They hurt - He comforts
-
They are sad - He makes them glad
-
They are lost and misdirected - He gives them salvation
and direction
-
Jesus can use our ship to reach those
on the shores of life
-
We need to be available for Him and those on the shore
-
We need to help Him reach others
-
We need to supply the means to reach them
-
"Clean Nets"
-
"Sea-worthy Ship"
-
"Helping Hands"
-
We must listen to Him, so He can help us - vs. 4
-
We must launch out ("at thy word") - vs. 5
-
We should obey Him and His Commission - and gain the
results - vs. 5
-
We can "crew" on the ship if we sign-up
-
Obedience is better than extra work
-
Need to "buy into" the goals
-
Follow the Master
-
Get on board
-
Togetherness is better than singularity
-
The sum of us together we are stronger than separate
-
Together we can obtain the direction He wants us to
have
-
Together we can all arrive and accomplish His purpose
-
If our anchor is out it slows us down
-
If our oars are only laying in the water, it slows
us down
-
If our rudder is turned wrong, we will go in circles
-
Self-awareness and humbleness is better than self-importance
and pride
-
We are nothing without Him
-
Without Him we can but fail
-
With Him we can do great things
-
Dependence (upon Him) is better than (independence
from Him)
-
He wants our totality
-
He blesses our trust
-
We need to count on Him, not ourselves
