Can Christ Use Our Ship?
Luke 5:1-11
  1. People have a desire to hear from Christ
    1. They are empty and hunger - He fills and gives fullness
    2. They hurt - He comforts
    3. They are sad - He makes them glad
    4. They are lost and misdirected - He gives them salvation and direction
  1. Jesus can use our ship to reach those on the shores of life
    1. We need to be available for Him and those on the shore
    2. We need to help Him reach others
    3. We need to supply the means to reach them
      1. "Clean Nets"
      2. "Sea-worthy Ship"
      3. "Helping Hands"
    1. We must listen to Him, so He can help us - vs. 4
    2. We must launch out ("at thy word") - vs. 5
    3. We should obey Him and His Commission - and gain the results - vs. 5
  1. We can "crew" on the ship if we sign-up
    1. Obedience is better than extra work
      1. Need to "buy into" the goals
      2. Follow the Master
      3. Get on board
    1. Togetherness is better than singularity
      1. The sum of us together we are stronger than separate
      2. Together we can obtain the direction He wants us to have
      3. Together we can all arrive and accomplish His purpose
    1. Self-awareness and humbleness is better than self-importance and pride
      1. We are nothing without Him
      2. Without Him we can but fail
      3. With Him we can do great things
    1. Dependence (upon Him) is better than (independence from Him)
      1. He wants our totality
      2. He blesses our trust
      3. We need to count on Him, not ourselves
