Part 5 -The Final Years Of Dutiful Business
Gen. 46-50

INTRO: Today we will end the series on Joseph. The last four weeks we used the themes that we need "SOMEONE WITH A VISION AND WILLING TO TOUCH PEOPLE'S LIVES," "SOMEONE WITH ENOUGH PASSION THAT THEY WILL CONTINUE NO MATTER WHAT THE DIFICULTIES FACING THEM," "SOMEONE THAT WILL SERVE IN THE GOOD TIMES AS WELL AS BAD." and "SOMEONE THAT WILL FORGIVE OTHERS AS GREAT FRIENDS DO. "Today I want to realize we need "SOMEONE THAT WILL GUIDE OTHERS AS GREAT GURUS DO."

As we see a great servant for Pharaoh, we also see…

  1. Joseph was excited about his family
    1. Told them about Pharaoh 46:31-34
    2. Told Pharaoh about them 47:1
    3. Introduced them to Pharaoh 47:2,7
    4. Led them to a better land 47:11

    We also see Joseph did not just do lip service, …
  2. Joseph exercised great care over them
    1. Protected them (in Rameses)
    2. Nourished them 47:12
    3. Helped them through hard times

    When his father was not there to see it…
  3. Joseph esteemed his brethren with an enduring love
    1. Refused to entertain (deserved) bitterness 50:15-19
    2. Gave an heritage to the little ones 50:21
    3. Glorified the God of Jacob (and Joseph)
Conclusion:
As we look at these last few verses in chapter 50, we see seven things we need to instill into our loved ones (and ourselves).
