The Consuming Cost of Refusal
is Real
Lu. 16:19-31
INTRO: It is so easy to just coast along and not
think about the cost of refusing to accept what God has made available
for us in the way of salvation. There are many things that it is no big
deal if we pass on, but to reject what God has given has dire consequences.
-
The burden of rejecting…
-
God’s plan
-
God’s Son
-
God’s Rescue
-
Burning Consumption that never ends
-
The fire will not be quenched
-
Constant torment
-
Baneful (ruinious) horror of facing
judgement
alone
-
Without our family
-
Without God or His Son
-
Balance of payment that falls due for
our life
-
Overpowering payment required (cannot
make ourselves)
-
When will it fall due?
-
Bitterness of soul ours for eternity
(have you ever been bitter about something
‘til it ruins your life?
-
Blessings lost due to inactivity (stock
market)
-
Regrets for actions (superficial in eternity)
-
Bleakness of a Christless tomorrow
-
Never to experience joy again
-
Always to have His blood upon your hands
