Is Not This the Christ?
Mark 6:1-13; Jn. 4:4-30

INTRO: Are we as excited as we should be about the Lord. Or are we used to Him just as the Nazarites were that lived close by Him? Do we have the excitement that the woman of Samaria had when she could not help but share His glory?

  1. We often expect less from familiar things or workers 6:37
    1. Jealousy and guilt from our poor servitude
    2. We lack that trust and expectation because of familiarity

  2. We reap less because of our unbelief and lack of acceptance 6:4-6
    1. God cannot work as effectively when we do not believe
    2. God will work elsewhere

  3. Jesus desires to do a great work here
    1. Samaria was not prime territory as far as society was concerned,

      2. But there were souls in need there!
    2. Jesus wants to help those who need Him!

  4. Are we excited enough about Jesus?
    1. Will we inquire earnestly of Him?
    2. Will we tell others?
    3. Have we let our excitement die? Are we working by rote?
    4. Is Jesus the entity that drives your life?

      5. Can you say, "Is not this the Christ?"
