So many people justify themselves and say that they just couldn't go on. Is this what God wants or is it what He directs? NO! God wants us to continue on for Him. All the way not just to start and quit. So what stops us from continuing on for Him? What is good enough reasons for quitting??? Let's look at some servants of God and decide if we can let down and quit .
I. I am tired, I have been on the way a long time and need a rest.
A. Moses at the battle against the Amalekites was very tired.II. I am all alone and nobody really cares anyway!
BUT God had helpers to succour him. - Ex. 17.8-12
B. Samson was tired and thirsty after defeating the Phillistines.
AND God gave him to drink from the jawbone. - Jud. 15.14-20
C. Esau gave up too easily and let go of his birthright.
He only looked at temporal things. - Gen. 25.29-34
A. Samson must have felt all alone when he faced a thousand Phillistines. God gave him a tool to use. Jud. 15.9-17III. Death is at hand anyway!
B. Joseph must have felt his dream was gone when he was jailed.
But God blessed him and took care of him. Gen. 39.20-33
C. Elijah was ready to hide and quit when he felt alone.
God even sent an angel to feed him. 1 Ki. 19
D. The Three Hebrew Children no doubt felt like ' "what's the use?"
God protected them and sent His Son! - Dan. 3.17-18
A. Paul faced death with a determination to serve Him. 2 Ti. 4.1-9
B. Christ faced the cross with the determination that He would do what He came to do!!!
