Why do people look back and yearn to return to the slow easy going times of the past? Is it just good memories? The times of the past are filled (for many) with joy and realizations that they were closer to the Lord than now. We do not need to dress differently, or live in a different time to serve the Lord faithfully and correctly as He would have us serve Him.

I. We need to look back and apply/use proven things.

A. The Word of God as a rule/guide for our lives

1. It works - keeps us straight, out of trouble, walking right.
2. It is real - answers to problems in our lives is there.

B. Godly traditional values taught by our forefathers

1. The new moralities that are always trying to creep into our society are incompatible with God's Word
WHICH do we trust??
2. Why do we fear being called "OLD FASHIONED?"

C. Honesty in all aspects of our lives - work, play, etc.
D. Consider what God has rescued you from!! Do we want to return?

II. We need to prepare for the future, look ahead and trust the Landmarks set by God.

A. God's inerent Word
B. God's faithful promises
C. God's Plan of Salvation
D. God's sending His Son for His CHURCH
