We
are starting a fall campaign to challenge our church to reach out and
say hi to their family and friends and invite them to New Beginnings.
We will have four special Sundays starting September 20, 2009. Services
start at 10:30 AM. everyone is welcome to attend. We will have
different things going on each Sunday. Preaching will be timely and
deal with the difficult relationships of the Hatfield's and McCoy's
and how we can avoid harmful relationships in our lives. We are going
to ahve a good time - come and join us.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT NEW BEGINNINGS

Pastor Gary & son Jason showing emotion (offsite meeting)
Well,
you won't really see these expressions,
but you will see these guys
The Hatfields and McCoys
are the most famous feud in United States without question.
This
family has had movies made about their conflict. The feud lasted from
1878 to 1891, involving families form West Virgina and Kentucky. The
Civil War found most of the Hatffields on the northern and McCoys on
the southern side. One thing led to another and after numerous deaths
on both sides it ended. This had garnered the attention of a great part
of our country, even a Supreme Court ruling was involved. Eventually
one of the Hatfield relatives was hanged and seven others imprisoned
for life.
The families stopped fighting in 1891 and
reunited in 1979 on the Family Feud game. They even signed a peace
treaty June 14, 2003.
We are not going to be feuding, but learning how to avoid feuds in our
lives.
